Obituary for Fern M. Eschbach

Fern M.  Eschbach
Fern M. Eschbach, 92, of Temple, formerly of Blandon, passed away Tuesday, October 11th in the Reading Hospital with her loving daughters by her side.

Fern was married to the late Woodrow W. Eschbach.

Born in Maidencreek Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles Kemmerer, Sr. and Sarah (Burkert) Kemmerer.

She was a member of Maidencreek Church in Blandon where she was a former council member for many years.

She was employed by Western Electric, AT&T, then Lucent for twenty years retiring in 1985. In earlier years she was employed by Globe & Diener's Knitting Mills and Red Cheek Apple Juice Co.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing bingo, and traveling to the casinos in Atlantic City. She also was a member of the Blandon Senior Citizens, an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, and enjoyed cooking.

Fern was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

Surviving are Fern's children, Rosemary (Spengler) Zimmerman and husband Norman of Florida, Barbara (Spengler) Rowlands, widow of Edmund of Temple and companion of Elwood Oxenreider of Laureldale, Lori (Spengler) Erb and husband Everett, Jr. of Temple, and Lisa (Kemmerer) Brown and husband David of Tuckerton.

There are fourteen grandchildren, Barry Spengler, Cynthia Henry, Lamar Zimmerman, Dawn Medeiros, Brian Zimmerman, Scott Oxenreider, Heidi Luckenbill, Amanda Hornberger, Alexa Schaeffer, Alyssa (Gallo) Becker, Brandon Gallo, Kyle Erb, Laurie (Shuman) Moss, and Karli (Brown) Evans.

There are twenty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

She is survived by her siblings, Charles Kemmerer, Jr., Susanna Watt, Grace Fick, and Clarence and Roland Kemmerer.

She is predeceased by a son, Raymond Spengler, Jr. and survived by his wife Dorothy, a daughter, Tammy D. (Spengler) Schaeffer, a grandson, Mark Zimmerman, sisters Harriet Noll, Sarah Keller, and Dorothy Bossler, and a brother, Richard Kemmerer.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 1 pm in Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Blandon, PA 19510 with Rev. Sara Hertzog officiating.

A viewing will be held on Saturday morning in the church from 11 am until time of service.
Interment will follow in Maidencreek cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Fern Eschbach to Maidencreek Church at the above address.
