Margaret L. “Peggy” Strause, 84, formerly of Bern Twp., passed away Saturday February 25th in the Laurel Center in Tilden Twp.

She was married for fifty one years to the late Charles Strause who passed away June 23, 2013. She was previously married to Samuel Snyder from May 1953 until his passing in February of 1961.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Brown and Flora (Steele) Brown.

She was a member of Bern United Church of Christ in Bern Twp.

In earlier years she was a beautician.

After Margaret and Charles Strause were married, together they owned and operated a family farm in Bern Twp. until they retired.

Margaret loved to garden, maintaining a greenhouse for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, all sorts of sewing including tatting, knitting, and crocheting. Also, she enjoyed playing solitaire, word books, and crossword puzzles.

Surviving are four children, Diane E., wife of Craig A Lash of Bern Twp., Samuel F. Strause and wife Linda of Bern Twp., Donald E. Strause and wife Vicki of Centre Twp., and Cindy S. Adams wife of Elaine M. Wenger of Bern Twp.

There are nine grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

Also, a sister, Nancy Geisinger, widow of Carl Geisinger.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 10:30 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St. Bernville with Rev. Paul Cronin officiating.

A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until time of
service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
